Regardless of the subject being a person or a thing, there is always a singular and a plural, so for example if you are talking about "a museum" you use the verb in the singular form:
El museo es muy interesante.
The museum is very interesting.
If you are talking about more than one museum then you use the plural form:
Los museos son muy interesantes.
The museums are very interesting.
You can also see the plural mark in the English: museum/museums
Having said that, you need to be careful with certain words (collective nouns) that are generally used as a plural noun in English but as a singular in Spanish.
