Yes, good observation. When we say "more/less + [of] something" the más or menos are placed in front of the noun. When they are used as pronouns, as you don't need the noun any more, the noun desappears and you find más or menos after the verb. When used as an adverb, i.e. modifying a verb, as in for example: "I study less", then you find it, as in English, after the verb. These sentences can be extended with more bits of information, so you may find extra words, for example:

I study less now because I don't have time.

Yo estudio menos ahora porque no tengo tiempo.
