Meaning: Llevar-Tomar (Take)
Hola Emma
Not really, "llevar" means "to take" for when you take things/people somewhere:
Yo llevo a mis hijos al colegio.
I take my kids to school.
Tengo que llevar estas cajas al almacén.
I have to take these boxes to the storage room.
And other different meanings. Llevar is a polysemic verb.
"Tomar" also means "to take" but when your're talking about taking medicine, for example, or when you mean "to grab something":
Toma el dinero y compra unas cervezas.
Take the money and buy some beers.
Tiene que tomar muchas pastillas.
He has to take lots of pills.
Tomar is also, as well as llevar, a polysemic verb, so you may find other different meanings.
I hope this clarified it.
Saludos
Inma
