Le as direct object pronoun

Hola Inma,

I am a bit confused as to why Le can be used as a direct object pronoun. Is this only possible in this context or are there other situations where this is correct? Is there maybe already a lesson on this topic?

Thanks,

Deborah

Hola Deborah

This use of "le" is to do with certain cases of leísmo that are accepted by the rules in R.A.E. With these verbs of perception (ver, oír, escuchar) it's admitted to use "le" instead of "lo" as a direct object pronoun. Here is what R.A.E says about this - go straight to section 4C

Saludos
