A question about one of the example sentences used to explain 'nadie'.

Hi, 

In the example sentence, 'Nadie ha traído regalos a la fiesta', please could you tell me why ha, which I think is from the auxiliary verb 'haber', is used?

Hola Clara

The reason why you see "ha" in "ha traído" is because, as you say, we are using the Present perfect tense in Spanish, with auxiliary verb haber. But the English sentence takes the Preterite (simple past), "brought", because it is a more natural way to translate it. 

If we translated it literally we would then say "ha traído" = "has brought"

In Spanish we tend to use the Present Perfect a lot more than in English.
