Some verbs in the preterite indefinido have tildes and some don't. Is there a rule for when they are used or not used, as i'm finding it difficult to remember when to use them?

I find that the best way to learn tildes is to read them aloud. The tildes are used to describe the pronunciation and unlike English, Spanish is pretty phonetically accurate which helps immensely. If you remember how to pronounce it, you will remember where the tilde is
