You can't say we don't need to use and then need to use. You can either say:
We don't need to use you may / can use the infinitive or;
We don't need to "can't" use followed by must use the infinitive.

I looked again at the tip and it's not wrong but I agree it could be worded more clearly.
Basically it is saying that we use El Presente de Subjuntivo only after que and only if the subjects of each clause are different. When the subjects are the same, we use the infinitive, without que.
