The sing-songy intonation that he gives to everything he reads is distracting and seems completely unrealistic. Nobody that I've ever heard talks like that, and it makes the listening exercises for which he's the reader less useful than they otherwise would be. The selections that he reads always start with a long pause, as if he needed a cue and didn't get it, and, I always cringe in anticipation of yet another tra-la-laaaaa reading to have to transcribe. Honestly, who picked this guy? And did they discover him reading for story hour in some Spanish library's kids' section?
the narrator is pretty bad

Hola Christian,
I personally enjoy all the readers. One has to take into consideration that they are not having a conversation with someone but rather narrating passages. Without some form of expression, which you describe as "tra-la-laaaa", I would find the listening exercises really bland and monotonous.
I think that perhaps your future critiques of the gentleman you describe, or any other reader, could be far less harsh and personal. One tends to find that constructive criticism yields a more positive response.
Que tengas un buen día.
Saludos
I agree with Christian. The "tra-la-laaaaa" sounds like Eduard Khil singing "trololololol".
Christian was stating Christian's own opinion, which included Christian's constructive feedback (which was that, how the reader is speaking makes it difficult for the listener to understand)
To each their own
