Thanksgiving Day sentence: we were very happy.

Hola, Re: we were very happy. Kwizbot nos pusimos muy felices. You nos pusimos muy feliz. When I answered this, I wondered if I should put “felices” or “feliz”. I opted for “feliz” because I felt it was the “state” of being happy, and therefore would be invariable. Is this a possibility? And if so how to tell the difference? Thank you so much, Nicole

Hola Nicole

I am not quite sure what you mean about being invariable if it refers to the "state"...

Here "feliz" is an adjective and needs to agree with the nouns it is referring to (nosotros), therefore being a plural subject it needs the plural form "felices".

Other similar sentences are for example:

Los niños estaban muy animados en el cumpleaños.

The children were very cheerful at the birthday party.

María se sintió agotada después del viaje.

María felt exhausted after the trip.

Saludos
