One of the sentences top practise this lesson is "Instrumentos africanos han sido tocados por los músicos". A lot of Spaniards told me to rather not place the subject first when it has no article, as it wouldn't sound good in there opinion. Could I alternatively say "han sido tocados instrumentos africanos ...", or doesn't this work?

Subject in different position?
This question relates to:Spanish lesson "Forming the Spanish passive voice with ser + participle (Compound tenses - passive voice)"
Asked 2 years ago
Hola Lara
You can also place the subject after the verb as you suggested: "Han sido tocados instrumentos africanos", but in both sentences it would sound a lot more "relaxed" if we add an article or a determiner, for example "Han sido tocados unos instrumentos africanos" or "Algunos instrumentos africanos han sido tocados". The passive voice in Spanish using ser with the past participle is not used as much as in English and we tend to use what is called the passive "se" where everything sounds more natural:
Se han tocado instrumentos africanos.
See Passive se.
Un saludo cordial
Inma
