Same subject and object
No creo que vaya al cine después.I don't think I'll go to the cinema later.I thought if the the subject and the object were the same the infinitive was used for the second verb and not the subjunctive
This question relates to:Spanish lesson "Conjugate irregular verb ir in the present subjunctive in Spanish (El Presente de Subjuntivo)"

Hola Wendy
That would work for other verbs in the main clause but not for "creer que". For example you would say:
Espero ir al cine después.
I hope to go to the cinema later.
Espero que mi amiga venga al cine conmigo después.
I hope my friend comes to the cinema with me later.
Quiero ir al cine más tarde.
I want to go to the cinema later.
Quiero que vengas al cine conmigo más tarde.
I want you to come to the cinema with me later.
In all these cases with the same subject, notice how there is no "que", it goes straight to the infinitive.
Saludos
