Yes, that's right. When using the Indefinido in "estuvimos", "estuvieron", this is seen by the speaker as something that is "completed", even though they are not using any specific timeframe that indicates that; as opposed to having used the Imperfecto "estábamos", "estaban" which would indicate a more "descriptive function", without having in mind the end of this action.
