more on the extra word

I guess I wasn't clear in my question.  The "any" in parens is what I added in my question.  There were no parens in the English in the lesson.

Also I was asking if "No hagan ningún ruido" is the correct way to say "Don't make any noise."

Maybe it's just me, but I find it very difficult when translations are so different from each other.  Quite often the subleties escape me.

Hola Sherri,

Yes, sorry, I assumed the parenthesis was in the actual quiz.

The quiz is saying this:

"No hagan ruido"

this is omitting "ningún". In Spanish you can omit ningún and still means "any". But you can also use is with ningún: "No hagas ningún ruido". In Spanish both sentences would be implying the same.

In English you can also say "Don't make noise", but it sounds more natural to say it with "any", "Don't make any noise". This is why we used that translation in the English part.

I hope this clarified it
