Me gusta el deporte...?

I was always taught that you can use "me gusta el deporte" to refer to sports and it is more common to use the singular, rather than the plural. The same as in English. Is this correct?

Hola Daniel

In Spanish you can say both "Me gusta el deporte" or "Me gustan los deportes", the same way you can say in English "I like sport" or "I like sports".

I added another possible correct answer using the singular in this exercise to reflect this.
