Hola Patricia

We do use "vale" as a question tag, but not with the same use of ¿no? or ¿verdad?

We use ¿vale? as in "OK?". For example:

Voy a invitar a Juan a nuestra fiesta, ¿vale?

I´m going to invite Juan to our party, OK?

Mañana te recojo a las cinco, ¿vale?

Tomorrow I'll pick you up at 5, OK?

Here, I'm sure of what I'm saying, just double checking it's OK with you.

See the difference in meaning with these ones using ¿no? ¿verdad?:

Mañana te recojo a las cinco, ¿no/verdad?

Tomorrow I'll pick you up at 5, is that right?

(I am not sure if it was 5 or maybe 5:30...)

Vamos a invitar a Juan a nuestra fiesta, ¿no/verdad?

(didn't we say that?, double checking with you...)

We're inviting Juan to our party, is that right?

Can you see clearly it's two different situations?

They are similar but not quite the same.

Saludos

Inma
