el preterito perfecto v el preterito perfecto compuesto
This question relates to:Spanish lesson "Conjugate ser in the present perfect tense in Spanish (El Pretérito Perfecto)"

Hola Steve,
They are referring to the same tense, the present perfect in English.
Some text books call this tense El pretérito Perfecto and some El Pretérito Perfecto Compuesto.
If you see "El Pretérito Perfecto Simple", then this is another name for El Pretérito Indefinido.
We have a table with all different tense names. Here it is.
Saludos
Inma
