Does faltar take an indirect object always?

¡No faltes al respeto a tu profesor!Don't insult your teacher! Why is this not taking "le" before the verb since it is "faltar a alguien"?

Hola Allison

WIth this meaning (faltar al respeto a alguien) you can also add the indirect object pronoun to emphasise:

¡No le faltes al respeto a tu profesor!

It's not necessary but you can choose to omit it or not.

It'd be similar to this other sentence where you can do the same:

Quiero dedicar esta canción a Laura.

Le quiero dedicar esta canción a Laura.

I want to dedicate this song to Laura.

Saludos
