¿Qué te parece? is another correct alternative for What do you think?, yes, absolutely.
It is more advanced, more colloquial and idiomatic, so you should mark yourself as "correct" there on that one!
With esperar we wouldn't use the "a" if what you're waiting for is "something", like an answer. However you'd need the "a" if you are waiting for a person. for example:
Estoy esperando a mi madre.
I'm waiting for my mum.
