This reading and listening exercise is about how to make a Spanish potato omelette: una tortilla de patata. This is suitable for level A2 Spanish students but it contains some B1 elements. A tortilla de patata is a simple dish and emblematic of Spanish cuisine, but do you know how to make one? Watch this video to find out, but be warned this is just one way! It may be a dish involving few ingredients but every family has their own way of doing it which for them is the "right way"!Grammar
This video is for A2 students but there is particular emphasis on the Pasiva Refleja, which we cover in the B1 lesson: Forming passive sentences with se. You will see that because of this in the translation we have used the passive throughout, even though in a recipe we might more naturally use the impersonal "you" form.Vocabulary

Here's the reason: in most of Spain and many Spanish American countries people say la sartén, but in some parts of Spain and some Spanish American countries it is more common to hear el sartén. Note that according the Real Academia Española sartén is feminine. Here are the vocabulary lists associated with this reader:Exercise: ¡A comer!
