Which is right?

In the Yucatan in Mexico, I have heard el derecho for straight ahead. It is quite confusing with 'la derecha' for the right. Todo recto is much better!

Hola Inga

I imagine what you probably heard was "todo derecho" as in "straight on" (we say that in Spain too), but I think in Mexico they still say "a la derecha" and "a la izquierda" to refer to "to/on the right", "to/on the left".

It could also be that in that particular area in Mexico there is a specific expression. It'd be nice to know which one it is so we could investigate a bit.

Saludos
