ser and estar to talk about days, months, seasons..

Your approach to address this subject is confusing. Please consider rewriting the teaching or add a new teaching in ONE lesson addressing all possibilities. Include all possible questions and answers about what date, day, month, year etc.

Hola Habib

I understand why you'd want to have all the information in one only place, but we have these two lessons in two different lessons because the use of ser is more basic, therefore it is in level A1 and the use of estar is more colloquial and more advance, hence its level: B1

I hope this clarified it for you.

Saludos cordiales

Hola Habib, I really understand your point because the issue of ser vs estar is difficult.

Inma is of course right, so I have learned to read and re-read the lessons very carefully. Not easy when you are trying to make progress at speed. So in this case I think the key points are that use of estar rather than ser is more colloquial; that there are certain endings incorporated i.e. “a” and “en.”; and that there is a particular point about asking about a date. Yes it would be good if the word “ask” was underlined in bold - for me anyway, because I can’t help speed reading, and perhaps because I am getting old!!

Saludos. John
