Rico for food

Hello,

I am under the impression that rico means rich.

So when we call food item rico, it appears to me to be rich in calories.

Or is it that we call it delicious because only rich people can have such a meal/ food item?

Hola Aditya

The adjective "rico" is also used when describing food as "tasty/nice", so we can say for example:

Esta comida está muy rica.

This food is really tasty.

It doesn't refer at all to calories.

Saludos
