Keep in mind that this .....

Hola Inma,

Can you help me with the following. The alternative answers given are:

Ten en cuenta que esta ...... / Ten presente que esta / Recuerda que esta / No olvides que esta

I can't understand why a subjunctive spelling of recordar (recuerde) isn't used. It is probably for an obvious reason but I'm missing it.

Saludos. John

Hola John,

The reason why we haven't included as another alternative "Recuerde que esta..." using the subjunctive form is because there is a hint here saying "addressing you = tú", therefore, the verbs need to be in the imperative for "tú" , not for "usted", i.e. ten, recuerda, no olvides, instead of tenga, recuerde, no olvide...

Bear in mind that the last option "no olvides" does take the form of the subjunctive because it is a negative imperative.

I hope this clarified it.

Saludos

Inma
