I do not have to water them often,Kwizbot           no debo regarlasYou                  no necesito darlas aguaI’d like to know if my reply  is good /correct Spanish or is it not the way this would usually be said.  (I don't mean whether it would  be understood, but is this the only way to say this, or can it be said other ways?)Hope you had a muy Feliz Navidad and wishing you a wonderful New Year! Thanks you.  Nicole

Hola Nicole,Yes you can actually use "no necesito..." but it'd be like this:"no necesito regarlas a menudo" (for watering plants we use verb "regar") In this context, saying "I don't have to water them.." we also mean "I don't need to/it is not an obligation to..." so it is also OK to use "necesitar", the same way we would use "need" in English. I added this as another possible answer.Gracias, saludos y Feliz Año.Inma
