How to say you like someone

How do I say I like someone, rather than I fancy someone? Or indeed that I don't like someone! For example, I like him but I don't fancy him.

You would have to be more explicit and paraphrase a bit so it is clear with sort of liking or not liking you are referring to. You could say for example:

Me cae bien pero no me gusta físicamente.
I like him (his personality) but I don't find him atractive (no physical attraction)

Caer bien/mal is an expression that we commonly use to say that you like or dislike someone in terms of personality (being a nice person or not very nice person) - it works like gustar:

A mí me cae bien Fernando, pero no me gusta físicamente.
I think Fernando is nice, but I don´t fancy him.
A mi madre le cae mal mi novio.
My mum doesn't like my boyfriend.
A nosotros nos cae mal nuestro profesor.
We think my teacher is not nice.
