Conjugating poner in the future tense seems to follow a more general pattern

Namely, adding a 'dr' to the stem before the regular endings.

I will leave ... Saldré

I will put ... Pondré

Is there a rule? Only for -er and -ir verbs?

Hola Marc

There's no rule to know which verbs are irregular in the future. As for knowing which of the irregular verbs ad -dr, there's no rule either. All irregular verbs in the future end in -er or -ir.

Here you can find the types of irregularities that you find in the irregular verbs in the future in Spanish

I hope it helps.

Saludos
