Confusing/unhelpful hints on the mini quiz

The hints giving in the mini quiz for this lesson are not very helpful.  Correct me if I am wrong, but the verb that we need to conjugate is ir not the second verb in the infinitive.  Therefore, the hint should read conjugate ir in el presente, correct?

Hola Lalaine

I can see in your history that you've been practicing both the present and the near future tenses. Could you please provide me with a specific example along with the hint?

Thank you, and have a great weekend!

Hola Lalaine

The hints are saying "conjugate ... verb int the near future" because the near future is formed by using the verb "ir" in the present tense (voy, vas, va, vamos, vais, van) + preposition "a" + the infinitive of the main verb. So, the whole structure is conjugating in the near future.

In other tenses, for example, perfect tenses like the present perfect (el pretérito perfecto) in Spanish, there are also two parts in the structure; first you use the verb haber in the present (he, has, ha, hemos, habéis, han) and then the past participle of the main verb. So, when asking to conjugate a specific verb in the present perfect, we say: conjugate ... verb in the pretérito perfecto - knowing the conjugation implies that you know how to form the whole structure. For example: "conjugate the tú form of hablar in the pretérito perfecto":  "tú has hablado".

I hope this clarified the hint.

Un saludo cordial

Inma
