I imagine you refer to using mientras and conforme, both for simultaneous actions (not quite sure if this is what you are doubting about) - yes, both conjunctions can be used with that purpose:

Yo comía mientras Alberto nadaba.

(I ate as/while Alberto swam)

Yo comía conforme Alberto nadaba.

(I ate as/while Alberto swam)

Both equally correct although the use of mientras is more common and more informal than conforme.
