Amigo -> amiguito?

Does this mean my little friend is mi amiguito?

Hola Johnny,

when you use "amiguito" you would be talking about a friend in a very affectionate way. This word is used among kids very often. A kid could say:

"Este es mi amiguito Carlos" (This is my friend Carlos)

Or an adult could ask a child:

¿Cómo se llama tu amiguita? (What's your friend's name?)

As explained in the lesson, this diminutive doesn't always make things/people "smaller"; sometimes it is used to add "affection".

I hope this clarified it.

Saludos
