Accidental se
The "accidental se" is a passive structure used in Spanish when the speaker wants to express an "unintentional" action. The verb is in its pronominal form, and the person is expressed by an indirect object pronoun.
For example:
Se le cayeron las monedas al suelo.
He dropped the coins on the floor [accidentally]/ The coins were [accidentally] dropped by him.
Se nos han olvidado las tarjetas de embarque.
We forgot the boarding passes. [accidentally]/ The boarding passes were [accidentally] forgotten by us.
Se me han roto las gafas.
I broke my glasses [accidentally]/The glasses were [accidentally] broken by me.
