When I was in Catalonia two years ago, I saw that people danced a very original dance which is called sardana. It was a very beautiful dance, where participants held hands and they moved in a group and in a circle. Some historians believe that the sardanas come from Ancient Greece. The cobla interprets the melody and is usually made up of eleven musicians who play Catalan instruments like the tenora and the treble guitar. The sardana is considered the Catalan local dance par excellence.
