Legend says that witches gathered and they carried out their rituals in the Galician forests. They not only made the most dangerous evil spells, but they also cast the evil eye on some people. The witches acted by virtue of the pact that they had with the devil, and they were capable of inflicting disease, dominate people by means of dark arts and destroy crops and fish. There are still people who believe that witches are still with us, and that's why they are cover themselves with amulets to combat them. Galicians have a very popular phrase that says "I don't believe in witches, but they are there". This phrase perfectly sums up the balance between the practical, incredulity and mysticism.
