We are in the Masaya Volcano National Park, 23 kilometers from Managua. We've come this far because it is one of the most popular tourist attractions in this Central American country. The park encompasses a volcanic caldera which has two volcanoes and five craters. Sounds good, right? We visitors can get closer to these craters and thus learn about geology and ecosystems; and during the night, there is a show called "lake of lava" that can be seen from the very edge of the crater. I hope we really enjoy our visit and that it will be one of those unforgettable ones.

Clever stuff happening!
