In Spain, marriages can be of two types: religious or civil. Also, there are other legal statuses such as the de facto couple to legalise couple relationships. As for families, these can be single-parent, that is, when there is only one parent, or large families: when a couple has three or more children. In addition, in Spain civil marriage is allowed between two people of different or same sex. Also, divorce is allowed and both the custody of the children and economic responsibility are regulated. Finally, maternity and paternity leave exist and tax aid for families to deduct in the tax return.
