The drum is a prehistoric musical instrument that comes from Africa. It arrived in Europe in the Middle Ages through the migrations of Africans. Later, at the time of the Spanish and Portuguese colonisation, the colonisers took the African slaves to Latin America and the drum with them. So the slaves built drums with local materials and created new music to dance to. Finally, these instruments evolved over time and managed to enter the halls of high society.
