Rosario Castellanos was a Mexican writer who wrote novels, plays, short stories, poetry and essays. She gave women a voice with her work called "Woman who knows Latin". She published it in 1973, in it she exposed her concern for the social disadvantage of women; and she dealt with deeper and more thorny subjects like the education of women in Mexico, and the feminine condition throughout history. Symbol of Latin American feminism, she died in Tel Aviv in 1974.
