When I get home, I'm going to listen to a great Cuban music group that is called the Buena Vista Social Club. Its first album was released in 1996, it popularised the Cuban son and its artists became known worldwide. I love the song "Chan Chan". It is inspired by a children's story that tells the adventures of Juanica and Chan Chan, who were building a house and they went to the sea to look for sand. Compay Segundo, the author of the song, says he dreamed of it before formally composing it and that it brings back very good memories.
