Spanish Idioms
An idiom is an expression that cannot be translated word-for-word into another language.
For example:
¡No me tomes el pelo!
In English, this literally means "Don´t take my hair." However, the idiomatic translation is "Stop pulling my leg!"
Another example:
¿Me pone una cerveza?
In English, this literally means "Do you put me a beer" but is translated as "Can I have a beer?".
