I really think that the elderly are the wisest in the world. They have lived so many years that they are brimming over with wisdom. When they were little, they had to face the civil war and the post-war period, where they had to be inventive to avoid starvation and other calamities. Later, they experienced the economic and social opening of Spain and they fought for the rights that we now enjoy. When they finished their working lives, some of which lasted longer than 40 years, they started to take care of their grandchildren without asking for anything in return, thus giving up their personal space. How can they not be wise! We should listen to them more often because they have lived through unimaginable experiences and they continue to teach us impressive life lessons.
