Verbos con cambio ortográfico e>i verbs (presente subjuntivo)

Stem-changing Spanish e>i verbs in the present subjunctive

In Spanish, verbs that undergo an e>i stem change in the present indicative will have the same irregularity in the present subjunctive, however, while in the present indicative not all forms change (nosotros and vosotros do not change), in the present subjunctive all forms have this vowel change.

Have a look at the following examples in both the present indicative and the present subjunctive:

Pedir (to ask/order)
Ella pide las cervezas. (present indicative)
She orders the beers.
Es mejor que ella pida las cervezas. (present subjunctive)
It'd be better if she ordered the beers.

Vestir (to get dressed)
Yo me visto muy rápido. (present indicative)
I may get dressed very quickly.
Quizás me vista muy rápido (present subjunctive)
I may get dressed very quickly.
